Adoption success story includes 8 adoptive children

On Behalf of | Dec 11, 2014 | Adoption |

Making the decision to adopt a child is one that can be very rewarding. The reward is so great for some adoptive parents that they choose to adopt even more children. That is exactly how it happened for one Nebraska couple.

The couple adopted two brothers in 2004. As it turns out, those two brothers had another brother. The couple has said yes each time they were asked to adopt another child. They now have eight adopted children. The children range in age from 1 year old to 13 years old. The couple had adopted the two oldest children first.

Besides their adopted boys, the mother also has a teen daughter from a previous marriage. She reminded people that adopted children don’t want money. They want love. She calls the chaos in the home sweet. She says adoptive parents don’t have to be perfect and instead only have to provide a loving home.

Their large family doesn’t all sit at a table to eat together. Instead, they have to eat in the dining room and the kitchen for meals. The mother stays at home, while the father works. The kids go to school while the mother cleans the home. She helps them with homework and makes sure their busy schedules are managed, but she says that life isn’t difficult. Instead, she says life as she knows it is her normal.

Anyone who is interested in adopting a child might have questions. Getting answers to those questions and learning about the process might help them to make an informed decision about whether to adopt or not.
